Tent Parent Training
Good Moring Gator Parents!
I have attached a Tent Parent Training document for any parent who has signed up to be a tent parent or any moms or dads who would like more information about this important role. Please review it and let me know if you have any questions. Our Tent Parent Coordinators (Kristen Dodd and Megan Goforth) will review this training before the Practice Meet on 5/21 at 4:15pm. Please plan to be there if you have signed up to be a Tent Parent or plan to sign up for future meets. Here are a few reminders for all parents and swimmers to assist Tent Parents in making a meet run as smoothly and timely as possible.
- Pack lots of water and healthy snacks. Meets are 4-5+ hours long in the heat.
- Pack quiet activities so swimmers can rest in their assigned tent and save energy.
- Only swimmers and tent parents are allowed in the tent. Please do not bring younger siblings or anyone else. Some tents have over 25 swimmers to manage.
- Encourage a bathroom break before the meet so Tent Parents do not have to make multiple trips (for young swimmers).
- Encourage your swimmer to be respectful to their Tent Parents. Only line up when their name has been called. Do not leave the tent without permission. This is to keep them safe and avoid missing their race.
- Swimmers cannot play on the playground (or away from their tent) during a meet.
- 6 and Under parents please make arrangements to check your swimmer out of their tent at the break so 6U Tent Parents can end their shift.
We are looking forward to another amazing Gator season! Thank you and let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Stevie Irby
